Le Galion perfume, created in 1953 by the French perfumer Pierre Wargnye, is named after a 17th century ship called Le Galion. The fragrance was inspired by the story of the ship's captain, who was said to have used the ship's cargo of jasmine flowers to win the affections of a local princess.
